As with all businesses in a small town, FT&T likes to give back a little.
John & Jenny (the bosses) have supported many different causes over the years, from Group leader of Forster Scouts, Rotary(past President), Inner Wheel (President elect), Cooking for the soup kitchen, Committee positions in our local Snooker Club, the SES and many smaller causes.
We are most passionate about Variety, the Children’s Charity. FT&T have sponsored Bash car “R1P” in the past 6 Bashes and helped the car raise over $80,000 for Variety. This sponsorship is on going.
As of the 25th anniversary of Bashing, Variety the Children’s Charity have raised over $110,000,000 from Bashes Australia wide. Go to https://www.variety.org.au/nsw/ for more info about Variety and their causes.
John is very proud of the hands on approach to fundraising that “Bashing” demonstrates. Our car is a 1959 Ford Ranchwagon hearse. It started life as a hearse in Dalby, Qld. After 64,000 miles at walking pace it has now completed 8 bashes in Australia – as far afield as Perth, Broome, Darwin, Ayers Rock and all points in between. This year (2012) it will enter the Balmain to Bamaga bash, this will see us travelling as far North as possible, to the tip of Cape York.
