  • KABA 4000 series
Built to the same rigorous standards as Kabas mechanical versions, the 4000 Series promises to preserve a long and proud tradition of superior quality and performance.

The 4000 Series is programmable, but you don't need a computer and you don't need to install any wiring. It is completely stand-alone, powered by 4 standard AA alkaline batteries. You program access codes and set features right at the lock.

New and retrofit installations are easy, requiring standard ASA 161 door preparation for a cylindrical lockset with only minor modifications.

Users are notified of lock operations by audible and visible indicators, and the ADA-compliant lever requires only a 45-degreee turn to open.

The smooth, contemporary lines of the 4000 Series are designed to complement most decors inside or out and to meet the demands of today's market for aesthetics as well as performance.

Pushbutton entry eliminates the security worries that result when the keys are lost or stolen, and the costs of new or replacement keys. Three security levels allow you to flexibly manage access codes. Code guessing is virtually eliminated with up to 1 million possible unique access codes and a tamper shutdown feature that de-activates the lock for up to 15 minutes after four successive failed attempts.

The 4000 Series features a mechanical key override to be used in the event of an emergency or during a tamper shut down. The 4000 Series lock has been rigorously tested in Kabas advanced testing laboratory to withstand real-world abuse. Its vandal-resistant, metal keypad is a standard component used in the telephone industry and the latch has a three-hour fire rating. This heavy-duty, all-weather lock operates between -31°F and 151°F (-35°C and 66°C). The batteries last up to 80,000 openings, and the lock warns you when they are running low.
